Chris Paul is a Houston Rocket

If you don’t know, now you know, baby. Chris Paul will join James Haden in Houston and will become the newest member of the Rockets’ organization. Chris Paul is one of the best point guards in the league (possibly of our generation), making this trade a huge W for the Rockets. I don’t care if he’s 32, he’s still got plenty of thread left on the tires. I mean, perimeter defense be damned, because Harden and CP3 can’t play a lick of it. But, whatever, 150+ games against the Warriors will be fun to watch.

Welcome to the age of the super team, folks.

There is some fun nuance to this trade…

Can James Harden and Chris Paul play on the same team?

Will they mesh well? That’s a big question make. We’ll find out. They’re both REALLY INTENSE guys. Harden has a short fuse and a temper, while Chris Paul just seems to be a miserable person. He’s always bitching or yelling at someone. Mixing the two of them seems like a Molotov cocktail waiting to be lit, even if reports claim they really wanted to play together.

I talked to our NBA Guy, Scottie Diggs and here’s his take on the situation:

Scottie Diggs: “[This trade] is awesome on paper and in theory. If you can get a CP3, you get him. But, Harden was the best point guard in the league last year. CP3 can’t play off the ball, which means Harden will no longer be the primary ball handler. [Hard will be] moving back to the 2.”
