Catch a Buzz with Ed: Super Bowl Hangover

After a dramatic comeback victory in Super Bowl 51, the New England Patriots defeated the Atlanta Falcons in overtime play. I cannot think of a better celebratory beer to honor the Patriots’ championship win than Boston’s own, Samuel Adams Rebel IPA.

Brewed and distributed under the Boston Brewing Company, Samuel (Sam) Adams is famously known for its Boston Lager. In 2014, the company used an unorthodox approach to develop a west coast style India Pale Ale. Through a careful selection of American hop varieties, while collaborating with a hop breeder in Yakima Valley, WA to create a hop brand exclusive to Sam Adams, the Rebel IPA recipe was born.

After being down by 25 points in the second half of Sunday night’s Super Bowl, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots charged back by scoring four touchdowns and a field goal in New England’s closing five series. James White’s overtime rushing touchdown finalized the win for the Patriots.

Tossing a Super Bowl record 466 passing yards, Brady was awarded MVP of the championship game for the fourth time in his career. The Bill Belichick-Tom Brady duo earned their fifth Super Bowl rings, the most by any coach-quarterback pair in football history.

Here’s to you, New England Patriots. Congratulations on your Super Bowl victory! I have to admit, I was rooting for the Falcons to win this one. In my gut, however, I knew who the slightly better team was. (See tweet below)

Enjoy your Super Bowl win with Sam Adams Rebel IPA…we know Gronk will. You’ll get’em next year, Falcs!
