Week 4: Start’em or Sit’em?

Week 4 Start’em or Sit’em

Are you looking for the best Start’em and Sit’ems on the web? Look no more. The FF Advantage gives you his Start’em and Sit’ems for Week 4. Which quarterback in the Raiders/Broncos game is the start’em and which is the sit’em? What wide receiver is in line to have his 2nd consecutive bust fantasy week? Start’em and Sit’em for all positions are below.

Quarterbacks:

Start’em:

Russell Wilson vs. Indianapolis Colts

I know people think this is going to be a one sided game, but I tend to believe both teams will score points. Enough so that Wilson will not have to pump the brakes in the 4th quarter like Aaron Rodgers had to do on Thursday night. Indianapolis has given up the 13th most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.

Trevor Siemian vs. Oakland Raiders

Trevor Siemian is coming off a terrible game in week 3 against the Buffalo Bills. In his defense, it was on the road and much like a lot of quarterbacks in the NFL that are not yet elite, home is where the heart is. Trevor gets that home game this weekend against a Raiders defense that’s allowed a 112.0 QB rating so far this season. Oakland has given up the 3rd most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.

Sit’em:

Derek Carr @ Denver Broncos

Carr had a horrible week 3 and it won’t get any better for him and his fantasy owners this week in Denver. The Broncos defense is allowing only 5.9 yards per attempt so far this season. The Oakland has one of the top offensive lines vs. the rush this season, but they have not played a team with the defensive line speed of Denver. Carr will be rushed and make mistakes. Denver has given up the 12th most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.

Cam Newton @ New England Patriots

Cam hasn’t looked good so far this year. The Saints defense held him to no touchdowns and three interceptions last week and his wide receiver corp are really banged up. Kelvin Benjamin is not 100% and rookie Curtis Samuel has already been ruled out. New England has given up the most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season, but I expect that to change this weekend.

Running Backs:

Start’em:

Joe Mixon @ Cleveland Browns

Guess who finally realized they had a really good running back? Joe Mixon carried the ball 18 times for 62 yards and caught three passes for 39 more last week. This is what fantasy owners who drafted him early this year were waiting for. With a new offensive coordinator and a HC that is playing for his job, I expect Mixon to continue to dominate the touches among Bengals running backs.

Christian McCaffery vs. New England Patriots

Although I am down on Cam Newton, the Panthers offense is not a total loss for fantasy. Christian McCaffery saw 11 targets last week, to lead the team, and is going up against a Patriots defense that’s been shred by pass-catching backs all season. New England has given up the most fantasy points to running backs this season.

Sit’em:

Marshawn Lynch @ Denver Broncos

It appears the Raiders have no intention of ever using a heavy dose of Beast Mode in a game this year. Unfortunately that is the type of back he is, unless he gets 20+ carries he will continue to disappoint. It gets worse this week. The Broncos defense is allowing a league-low 59.7 rushing yards a game. Denver has given up the 2nd fewest fantasy points to running backs this season.

Mark Ingram vs Miami Dolphins (London)

If you are a Mark Ingram owner you may be rolling your eyes right now thinking, “No Kidding!”. Ingram has rushed the ball the most any other back in New Orleans, but his lack of  goal line touches is a huge problem. I expect his mediocre weeks to continue this week against a Dolphins team that allows the fifth-fewest rushing yards per game at 73.5. Miami has given up the 6th fewest fantasy points to running backs this season.

Wide Receivers:

Start’em:

Jarvis Landry vs. New Orleans Saints (London)

The New Orleans Saints have been carved up by slot receivers this season. Enter Jarvis Landry, who hasn’t seen less than 11 targets yet this season from trigger happy Smokin’ Jay Cutler. The Saints have allowed 68+ receiving yards to 4 different wide receiver to start the season. New Orleans has given up the 11th most fantasy points to wide receivers this season.

Eric Decker @ Houston Texans

Eric Decker is starting to come alive in the Titans offense that may have to rely more on the passing this weekend. Decker has had at least 5 targets in each of the first three games of the season. The Titans will be without Corey Davis this week which makes way for more targets for Decker. I expect Decker to find the end zone for the first time this season. Don’t be shocked if it happens twice. Houston has given up the 10th most fantasy points to wide receivers this season.

Sit’em:

Amari Cooper @ Denver Broncos

Pretty sure by now you are seeing a trend here and Oakland Raiders fans are hating me. If you are a Cooper owner this is not a good thing to see. Last week he dropped a hot lunch on your fantasy team when he posted 1 catch for 6 yards. This week he gets the Broncos secondary who is  allowing only 214.3 passing yards a game. Stir clear of Raiders players in week 4. Got it? Good!

Tyreek Hill vs. Washington Redskins

Tyreek will be shadowed by Kendall Fuller out of the slot this week and he’s been one of the top cornerbacks in football so far this season. I think Alex Smith struggles getting the ball to everyone this week not named Hunt and Kelce. Washington has given up the 3rd fewest fantasy points to Wide Receivers this season.

Tight End:

Start’em:

Austin Seferian-Jenkins vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Austin Seferian-Jenkins made his season debut last week against Miami after serving a two game suspension. Surprisingly, Jenkins saw plenty of action and plenty of targets. ASJ was a welcome for fantasy owners looking for a tight end option after all the week 2 injuries. This week ASJ gets the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have given up the 3rd most fantasy points to tight ends this season. I am looking for a TD this week.

Jared Cook @ Denver Broncos

I know this is the 5th guy from this game, but I wouldn’t sleep tonight if I didn’t put a Raider on the list that has a chance at a great week. Jared Cook scored his first touchdown last week and this week he may do it again. The Broncos defense doesn’t have many weaknesses but the tight end is one. The Broncos have given up 19 catches to tight ends this season. That ranks them 3rd worst. Denver has given up the 5th most fantasy points to tight ends this season.

Sit’em:

Kyle Rudolph vs. Detroit Lions

Rudolph has been pretty disappointing since Case Keenum has taken over. I expect this to continue until Sam Bradford gets back from his injury. Last week Keenum had a career game and yet Rudolph only saw 2 targets for 1 catch and four yards. This week Rudolph plays a Detroit Lions defense that has allowed just nine catches to tight ends over three games.

Jason Witten vs. Los Angeles Rams

Jason Witten started the first two weeks surprising everyone as a TE1. That all fell apart last week when he was only able to bring in one catch for 3 yards. This week could be just as bad for Witten owners as he faces a the Rams defense that’s yet to allow more than 48 receiving yards to an opposing tight end. Los Angeles has given up the 10th fewest fantasy points to Tight Ends this season.

Team Defense:

Start’em:

Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns

Cleveland has given up the 2nd most fantasy points to Team Defenses this season.

New England Patriots vs. Carolina Panthers

Carolina has given up the 8th most fantasy points to Team Defenses this season.

Sit’em:

Buffalo Bills @ Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta has given up the 11th fewest fantasy points to Team Defenses this season.

Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans

Tennessee has given up the fewest fantasy points to Team Defenses this season.
