Best Fantasy Player Value Per Round Based On ADP: Rounds 14-8

Best Value Per Round Based On ADP

Finding that right value in each round is key to preparing for draft day. Here are my value picks for rounds 14-8. All ADP numbers are courtesy of fantasyfootballcalculator.com, and based off a 12 team PPR format.

One thing you may notice, there are no tight ends or quarterbacks on my list. For those of you that follow me, you know I like to stream both positions. Please feel free to comment below the article with your thoughts.

Round 14

Taylor Gabriel – WR (Atlanta Falcons) : ADP 14.07

If you have read any of my previous articles you will not be surprised by this selection. Everyone continues to talk about Tyreek Hill, but forget about Taylor Gabriel. Not exactly sure why Hill is going in the 4th round currently and Gabriel in the 14th. Gabriel had just as many receiving yards and touchdowns as Hill last year with 16 less catches. Oh, and in case you were living under a rock, the Falcons have a much better quarterback throwing the ball.

Round 13

Jacquizz Rodgers – RB (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) : ADP 13.07

Jacquizz is coming off a year where he played 6 games and rushed for 560 yards. I understand he is Doug Martin’s back up, but gets to start the first three games of the season. Besides, there is no guarantee Martin comes back and is effective after so much time off the field. I’ll take my chances with a guy who gets the rock to start the season and I only have to spend a 13th round pick on him.

Round 12

Tyrell Williams – WR (Los Angeles Charger) : ADP 12.10

Tyrell is another guy I have raved about in some of my other articles. Reason? Because he is another guy I cannot understand why everyone is so down on. All he did last season is 1059 yards and 7 touchdowns with a quarterback that loves to sling ball around. Also, it’s a safe bet the Chargers will be playing from behind in a lot of games again this year. It doesn’t hurt that he also appears to be one of the few Chargers players that can stay healthy all 16 games. Don’t sleep on this guy in the 12th round.

Round 11

Adam Theilen – WR (Minnesota Vikings) : ADP 11.04

I love Theilen in the 11th round.  Down the stretch of the 2016 season, Bradford and Theilen really started clicking. In PPR scoring leagues Theilen averaged 16 FPPG from weeks 9-16 and 12.3 FPPG on the season. Now that Bradford will get a full off season to work with Theilen I expect a nice season. Last year he finished the season as the 29th best fantasy receiver. This year I could easily see him ending up in the top 24 making him a WR2.

Round 10

Jonathan Stewart – RB (Carolina Panthers) : ADP 10.04

So this pick will have a few people doubting me. I get it., the Panthers drafted Christian McCaffery. Well, before you hop off the Stewart train and get run over by the McCaffery Express,  think about this. Only 6 rookie running backs since 2010 have rushed for over 800 yards and 8 touchdowns.  That is what Jonathan Stewart has averaged over his last two seasons.  I’m not expecting him to be a 1000 yard rusher, but he will hit 800 yards and 8 touchdowns again in 2017. Enough to be a spot start in any league with a 10th round tender. While your league mates are taking tight ends and quarterbacks in the 10th, you go J-Stew!

Round 9

Corey Coleman – WR (Cleveland Browns) : ADP 9.05

So 2016 was supposed to be Corey Coleman’s NFL debut to fantasy stardom. Well, that didn’t happen. First he got hurt. Then, Terrelle Pryor stole his spotlight. With the loss of Pryor(140), Gary Barnidge(81) and Andrew Hawkins(54) that frees up 275 targets from last season that will have to go somewhere. News flash, there is a good chance the Browns are playing from behind in a few games this year. I see him as high end WR2 or potentially even a low end WR1 in 2017.

Round 8

Pierre Garcon – WR (San Francisco 49ers ) : ADP 8.07

As you can see, I love stock piling wide receivers in these late rounds. Worst case scenario you have plug and play guys. Best case scenario you have trade bait or even better yet you find the steal of the draft. Typically guys like Pierre Garcon fall in drafts because owners are afraid of bad quarterbacks. This situation is no different. Hoyer, however is not a terrible quarterback in the right system. Also know as Kyle Shanahan offense. Former offensive coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons last year now head coach of the 49ers. There is a reason Garcon signed with San Francisco, and he wasn’t shy about telling everyone.

“Kyle Shanahan,” “That’s it. Kyle Shanahan was the reason.”

Garcon is really the only experienced and trustworthy receiver Hoyer has on the team. Bruce Ellington and Marquise Goodwin will man the other 2 starting receiver spots this year. That means expect Garcon to be targeted a lot. In case you didn’t see a pattern forming here I will let you in on another secret, The 49ers will be trailing in a lot of games this year.
