Calling Shots: The 2017 NFL Draft First Round

Man. I don’t usually pat myself on the back, but today I am. Because, I cleaned up making picks during the 2017 NFL Draft First Round. I got dragged through the mud all over the internet for saying that Mitchell Trubisky was going to be the first quarterback drafted and that he was the best quarterback in this draft class. He was and is. I think with the right development he can be the franchise quarterback Chicago is looking for. Paul berated me for my take on Trubisky during our podcast and proceeded to write a hit piece on him this morning.

I made it clear that I believed Christian McCaffery was the best back in this draft class. But, I said Leonard Fournette would go to the Jaguars at #4 and McCaffery would go to to the Carolina Panthers at #8. In reference to Leonard Fournette, I actually wrote: “Where’s he going? He’s going to the Jacksonville Jaguars at #4. I actually had grown ass men on Facebook groups dropping hard “Rs” and worse on me for those picks. I’m calling my shot.”

Last but not least, I said that Corey Davis was the best wide receiver available in the draft during our podcast. Again, on the internet and on the home front, I was chopped down. “He’s from Western Michigan. He’s from the MAC. He’s injured. You don’t know what you’re talking about.” Oh yeah? Well, now he’s Marcus Mariota’s new target and the first wide receiver taken in the draft.

The question remains. Why even read anyone other website. Just come to The Point After Show, read all of out articles (maybe not Arneses) and you’ll be well informed.

You can thank me now.
