Adidas Island, Yes, Adidas is giving away an island

Adidas, Adidas. Come and let’s play together in the bright, sunny weather. Lets all go to Adidas, Adidas Island. Adidas, Adidas, Adidas, Adidas. Lots to see and to do there. All we need now is you there. Lets all go to Adidas, Adidas Island. Adidas, Adidas. Binyah, Binyah. (If you’re completely lost, see the video at the end of this post).

Adidas: “Adidas Football today announced that the brand is offering the opportunity to win an island to the pro prospect in Indianapolis who breaks professional football’s recognized 40-yard dash record. The offer is open to any pro prospect who runs professional football’s recognized 40-yard dash in Indianapolis in the 2017 adizero 5-Star 40 cleats later this month and satisfies the eligibility requirements. Full details of the offer and requirements to be eligible are available at www.adidas.com/us/football.”

So, first of all, hats off to Adidas for some A+ marketing. First, they draw you in, then you learn that they’re only giving the island away to someone at the NFL Combine. If that’s not bad enough, the person then has to break Chris Johnson’s 4.24 40 time. Here’s the kicker, you also need to be wearing their shoes when you do it. Here’s the double kicker, if you want to own Adidas Island, you would be entering into an agreement to be their spokesman for free (minus the island) for a year.

Now, I don’t know that much about legal stuff. But, you can read the entire legally binding page full of jargon by clicking here. I don’t understand it. But, we have a great lawyer, lawyer Pete. If you have legal questions, just comment below and he’ll answer them. If he doesn’t just ask us for his private e-mail or telephone number and we will gladly give you it.

Things you should know about Adidas Island

  • You have to wear Adidas cleats. They’re giving away the island to gain publicity, they don’t want pictures of you breaking the record in a fresh pair of Nikes.
  • Where is Adidas Island? We’re not sure. But, it’s worth $1 million. Remember, you don’t get to pick the island, Adidas does. I mean, at the end of the day, it’s still an island, right?
  • How fast do you need to run? You would need to beat Chris Johnson’s 4.24 combine record to win the island. So, that means you would need to run a 4.23 – 40 yard dash. It’s safe to say that Adidas just got a TON of free publicity, every fast guy at the combine will be wearing their cleats and they probably won’t have to give away an island (or spend $1 million).
  • Is there a catch? Yes, you won’t get paid and will be forced to endorse Adidias for a year. Well, I mean, unless you count the island as payment. If a player doesn’t wear adidas footwear and gloves for the entire 2017-2018 NFL season, the player won’t get an island. Adidas will take their island and go home.

Is this marketing technique working? You tell me. Go to the website provided above.

All of the cleats are sold out.

Again, Adidas Island… Genius.
