If you paid attention last week and took my advice a few names you were rewarded with included Sammie Coates, Brian Hoyer and Terrence West. So continuing with this wealth of free knowledge I provide you some more players owned in less than 40% of leagues that you need to put a waiver request in for this week.
(Bye Week: Vikings, Tampa Bay)
Quarterbacks
Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs (18% owned)
Good streamer option in Week 6 if your primary quarterback has a bad matchup like an Eli Manning or Matthew Stafford. Alex coming off his bye week and gets a juicy matchup against the Oakland Raiders. Oakland gives up the 3rd most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.
Trevor Siemian, Denver Broncos (13% owned)
He is dealing with a shoulder injury that kept him out last week, but Paxton Lynch did everything to ensure Siemian’s job security is intact. He plays San Diego this week and again in a spot start this is a nice matchup. San Diego averages 19.14 points per week to quarterbacks.
Running Backs
Cameron Artis-Payne, Carolina Panthers (25% owned)
Keep an eye on Jonathan Stewart’s availability on this one, but if he is a no go again this week Artis-Payne is a great spot start. He plays New Orleans, who giving up the most fantasy points to running backs this year, and he looked excellent on Monday night getting multiple goal line carries.
James Starks, Green Bay Packers (10%owned)
Again this one is contingent upon the availability of Eddie Lacy (ankle), but if Lacy is held out this week Starks would be the workhorse against Dallas. Not the best matchup, but the offensive line in Green Bay seems to be improving dramatically.
Devontae Booker, Denver Broncos (9% owned)
Right this very moment there is nothing sexy about picking up Devontae Booker, but in my personally opinion, beat the rush. He is averaging 4.0 yards per carry and his touches have risen dramatically over the last three weeks. Last week he had 59 total yards on 10 touches.
Wide Receivers
Sammie Coates, Pittsburgh Steelers (36% owned)
I am putting him on this list again for the second week in a row. Why? It’s because this is your last chance to get him. I promise you. He is still not owned in over 60% of league. That’s Ludacris!! Move Bitch, Go Pick Him Up, Go Pick Him Up!!
Jeremy Kerley, San Francisco 49ers (8% owned)
I have been barking about Jeremy for over three weeks now and he is still only owned in 8% of leagues. I get it he plays for San Francisco and who knows what the quarterback situation will be, but pick him up. He is averaging 20 fantasy points over the last two weeks.
Cameron Meredith, Chicago Bears (5% owned)
You may have heard me talk about this guy on the podcast on Tuesday, I am huge on this guy. Kevin White being on the injured reserve and Alshon “Questionable” Jeffery, not healthy as usual, makes Cameron a must own. Hoyer targeted him twelve times last week.
Tight Ends
Jesse James, Pittsburgh Steelers (23% owned)
The outlaw Jesse James has quickly become Big Ben’s security blanket he lost after Heath Miller retired. Plenty of targets to go around and Ladarius Green still has a few more weeks before he becomes a worry to James. James has a touchdown in 3 of last 4 games.
Charles Clay, Buffalo Bills (12% owned)
As I mentioned last week, the absence of Sammy Watkins has led way to a lot of targets and passes that need to go somewhere. Tyrod has chemistry with Clay and he has a few juicy matchups over the next couple of weeks. 5 targets, 5 catches and 73 yards.
CJ Fiedorowicz, Houston Texans (1% owned)
CJ who? Wait the Texans have a tight end? Yeah that’s what everyone is asking themselves right now. CJ would have to be playing in the CFL to be owned by less people, but he has strung together two nice weeks in a row. He was targeted 8 times last week and with Osweiler struggling he may be the safety valve.
