Week 8 Fantasy Football Flex Options

The flex position is typically a guy that is not a must start every week, but on certain weeks may have a favorable matchup worthy of being entered into your starting lineup. We at The Point After Show are regularly asked on twitter about what flex players to start, so I am going give you the best Week 8 Fantasy Football Flex Options.

Ty Montgomery, RB/WR – Green Bay Packers

Ty Montgomery has been playing running back for the Packers for the last two weeks, but Yahoo hasn’t figured that out yet. ESPN has given the RB/WR tag to Ty, but I give him flex player of the week. Ty has touched the ball 32 times in the last two games racking up 12 carries and 20 receptions. This makes him the ultimate duel threat. Knile Davis should see more carries this week but Montgomery will continue to work out of the back field setting up easy check down receptions for Rodgers. It also helps the Packers are playing the Falcons who have given up the 17th most fantasy points to WRs and 6th most to RBs.

Jamison Crowder, WR – Washington Redskins

Jamison Crowder continues to impress week after week, and his production has gotten even better since Jordan Reed suffered a concussion 2 weeks ago. With the potential for Reed to miss another game, or retire if you ask Cavi the Producer, this looks like another game where Crowder could excel. Tough matchup against the Bengals who give up the 6th fewest points to WR, but Cousins must throw to someone. Crowder plays the early early game in London too so if you play him it gives you a reason to get up early and watch the game.

Devontae Booker, RB – Denver Broncos

Devontae has continued to see his workload increase over the last few weeks, and entering a game against the non-run stopping San Diego Chargers I believe there will be enough carries to go around for CJ Anderson and Devontae Booker. Last week Booker out snapped (35-29) and out touched (18-16) CJ Anderson so there is no reason to believe Gary Kubiak is not going to keep giving him opportunities.

Quincy Enunwa, WR – New York Jets

Quincy has seen his targets drop off over the last two games, but with the Ryan Fitzpatrick getting a second chance I Quincy’s productivity turning around starting this week. Enunwa gets a super soft Cleveland Browns secondary giving up the 9th most points and 18 passing TDs in 2016.

Michael Floyd, WR – Arizona Cardinals

I know what you are all thinking. “Paul, you told everyone to drop this guy two weeks ago.” To that I say you are right, but this is for those people who didn’t listen and decided to ride or die with Michael Floyd. Floyd hasn’t had over 65 yards receiving in a game this season and with John Brown coming back this week it’s hard to believe this will be the week he does. However, if you are ever going to have an opportunity to feel somewhat ok playing him this might be the week. The Red Birds play the Panthers this week who give up the 7th most fantasy points to WRs this season.

Jacquizz Rodgers, RB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jacquizz may be a scary start for some owners due to the possible return of Doug Martin. I say, worry not my friends, Martin will be eased back into action, if he plays at all. Quizz has touched the ball 62 times in the last two games for Tampa Bay. His productivity doesn’t figure to decrease with Oakland rolling into town this week. The Raiders have given up the 10th most fantasy points to RBs this year including three 100 yard games.

Other Notable Flex Options:

  • Terrelle Pryor
  • James White
  • Michael Thomas
