Week 8 Fantasy Football Advice

Week 8: The Texas Chainsaw Massa-Cray

It’s Halloween, bitches! I feel I had to tie in the holiday reference to my week 8 fantasy football advice somehow. In my mind, it wouldn’t make sense if I didn’t. And as lame as it may be, I’m sticking with the “cray” reference for now. This is a shout out to the millennial readers that peruse my advice articles on a MacBook Air while sipping their pumpkin spice latte.

Roughly two months have passed since we had our fantasy drafts. Coming into week 8, some of you are beginning to get a pretty good idea of whether or not you’ll be making playoffs this year. After adding the Starbucks experience to your daily morning Snap story, you begin to crunch the numbers and come to the sudden realization that your 2016 fantasy season may very well be cut short.

Here’s what you do…

Since most trade deadlines are set for the first or second week of November, now is the time to try to get any bites at trades for next season’s draft picks…if your league allows that. If not, perhaps make a sketchy deal on the side, collude, do whatever the hell you need to do. Just because it’s Halloween and you are mathematically out of playoff contention, this does not mean you still can’t enjoy the remainder of the fantasy season. Hand out some trick or treat trade candy to your league. Maybe you can lure an unsuspecting owner-victim into your creepy fantasy football van and start your preparation for the future.

However, if you are not out of the playoff picture just yet, but need to start making moves, here is a short list of guys who I like in week 8 and would start given their matchups and recent trends in fantasy production. I’ll bet my Coffee Bean punch card on it!

That’s my “Ed-vice”. Remember, when in doubt, always go with your gut!
