Fantasy Golf Rankings Travelers Championship

The Travelers Championship begins just as the US Open hangover ends. The PGA Tour will head to the New England coast for this week’s event at TPC River Highlands. Below are this week’s fantasy golf rankings, One and Done picks and odds to win.

US Open finishes

Brooks Koepka played lights out on Father’s Day to capture the victory of this year’s US Open. It was Koepka’s second PGA win and first major title.

For a week where any of the golf’s biggest names missed the cut, we still had 10 out of our top 25 ranked players finish the tournament under par, which results to 27th place or better:

Rank      Player                                   Finish

2              R. Fowler                             T5

3              J. Thomas                           T9

5              H. Matsuyama                    T2

8              S. Garcia                              T21

11           B. Steele                               T13

12           M. Leishman                        T27

15           P. Casey                                 26

18           R Henley                               T27

22           L. Oosthuizen                      T23

25           J.B. Holmes                         12

Travelers Championship | Breakdown

TPC River Highlands couldn’t be more opposite of a course than last week’s Erin Hills. RH is a par 70 course measuring 6,840 which is nearly a thousand yards shorter than the set up from the US Open. Last year, RH was the shortest course played all season.

The Travelers is where we witnessed Jim Furyk shoot his historic round of 58 in 2016. Is there a 57 in this year’s field? Highly unlikely, but if anyone can do it, it will be a good approach player who is accurate off the tee and can sink putts on Bentgrass greens.

Ball striking and par 4 scoring should be strongly considered when focusing on stats for this week. If you want to narrow down par 4 scoring even more, look at player stats for holes 400-450 yards in length. RH has eight holes within this yardage range.

Also, players with good course history I will likely favor in my DraftKings lineups. Charley Hoffman, Marc Leishman and Webb Simpson have each played this event at least five times each and have never missed a cut.

Travelers Championship | Fantasy Golf Rankings

The Travelers Championship fantasy golf rankings are provided by @Sgrignoli3 – PAS contributor and statistician. The rankings are derived from year-to-date player statistics extracted from PGATour.com. The weighted stats for this event can be found below the rankings. Player salaries are based off of DraftKings.com. The right end column has a variance between DraftKings and Vegas odds.

**Disclaimer:  PGATour.com is used as source for all player statistics. Stats are extracted on Mondays of tournament week and calculated for rankings by our statistical expert. If there happens to be a numerical error, blame them not us. Also, European Tour statistics are NOT included in the rankings calculations.

The top weighted player statistics for the Travelers Championship include:

  • Strokes Gained: Approach = 25%
  • Birdie or Better % = 20%
  • Strokes Gained: Off the Tee = 20%
  • Par 4 Scoring = 15%
  • Ball Striking = 10%
