Tom’s College Basketball Top 25 Sports Betting Picks – 2/16/17

So I am officially 17-12-0(58.6%), with sports betting picks since I started writing these articles. I’m still over the 55% threshold of breaking even. I am going to add a new concept to these articles. I will give you my guaranteed pick of the night. This pick may come from the top 25, but most likely won’t. It can also be an over/under. You can take these picks into consideration as well as check out online betting websites like Sports Betting America to place bets on other sports games that may take your fancy. This is my favorite pick of the night. Let’s jump into my locks!

(11) Wisconsin (21-4) at Michigan (16-9) Line: Michigan -2

Michigan has been playing some solid ball lately behind the outstanding play of Derrick Walton Jr. He is averaging 23 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5 assists per game over the last 5. The Badgers will need to slow him down when they come into Ann Arbor. Look for Hayes and Happ to put up solid numbers tonight for Wisconsin. Happ and the rest of the Badgers will need to make free throws if they plan on winning the game.

Tom’s Pick: Wisconsin +2

(5) Arizona (23-3) at Washington State (11-14) Line: Arizona -12

Arizona topped WSU by 17 points during January’s matchup in Tucson. Will they be able to keep up that tempo when they travel to Pullman, Washington? Yes! Washington State lost 9 of their last 11 games and has no chance of making the tournament. Arizona will be looking to dominate this game to help bolster their tournament credentials. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Wildcats win by 20.

Tom’s Pick: Arizona -12

Utah (17-8) at (7) Oregon (22-4) Line: Oregon -10

Oregon has been streaky lately. They pound Arizona, squeak by ASU, blow a huge lead to UCLA and convincingly beat a solid USC team. The Utes haven’t been able to find their place either going 3-2 since their loss to the Ducks. This is a tough one to pick. Oregon only lost once at home this year, but I think the Utes do enough to get this one.

Tom’s Pick: Utah +10

San Francisco (18-9) at (1) Gonzaga (26-0) Line: Gonzaga -22

Gonzaga has been dominating teams all year. A lot of analysts critique their weak WCC schedule forgetting about their wins against Iowa St, Florida, Arizona and St. Mary’s (twice). The Bulldogs have one of the best ATS records in the country (15-6-1), but 22 points is a lot. I think San Fran does enough to cover.

Tom’s Pick: San Francisco +22

Loyola Marymount (12-13) at St. Mary’s (22-3) Line: St Mary’s – 14

St. Mary’s played Loyola earlier this year defeating them by a score of 72-60. That 12 point win could have been greater if it wasn’t for the 19 turnovers committed by the Gaels. I think St. Mary’s takes care of business tonight and continues their run at the NCAA tournament.

Tom’s Pick: St. Mary’s -14

Pick of the Night

Hawaii (12-12) at UC Santa Barbara (3-20) Line: Hawaii -5

I looked for a line that didn’t make much sense based on the matchup. When a line doesn’t make sense it is either too good to be true of Jimmy Conway and Henry Hill(see Goodfellas) have something to do with it. Hawaii gave UCSB a double digit beating in their first game and I expect nothing different in this one. Hawaii will travel the UCSB, but I expect them to get the job done.

Tom’s Pick: Hawaii -5
