Novak Djokovic is “sorry” now that everyone got coronavirus

CNN: “Novak Djokovic has tested positive for coronavirus following an exhibition event he organized in Croatia.”

Are we ever going to have sports again? Not if we keep letting bozos like Djokovic set us back.

Novak Djokovic is arguably the #1 tennis player in the world, organized the tournament when The Association of Tennis Professionals suspended operations due to the WORLDWIDE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, until August 14.

So, instead of just waiting it out and listening to the professionals… Djokovic just decided to bring back tennis on his own. Now, he and his wife have both tested positive for COVID-19.

This tennis road-show managed to spread it’s cooties across most of Croatia before Djokovic was diagnosed. Belgrade, Serbia and Zandar all played host to events. But at least he’s a acknowledge that “we were wrong and it was too soon.” Ya don’t say, Novak.

The rest of the tournament won’t be held. Because, ya know… the 2nd and 3rd seeds in the tournament have also been diagnosed with COVID-19.

I’m with Nick Kyrgios. He called the tournament “boneheaded.”

It seems like those numbers have started going in the wrong direction since the start of this tournament. I think that’s the opposite of what we want. Right? Am I right?

CNN: “We organized the tournament at the moment when the virus has weakened, believing that the conditions for hosting the Tour had been met. Unfortunately, this virus is still present, and it is a new reality that we are still learning to cope and live with. I am hoping things will ease with time so we can all resume lives the way they were. I am extremely sorry for each individual case of infection. I hope that it will not complicate anyone’s health situation and that everyone will be fine.” Djokovic added that he would remain in self-isolation for the next 14 days and have another test in five days’ time.

Just for the laughs…
