Is J.J. Watt the best Texan of the decade?

ESPN has named J.J. Watt the best Texan of the decade (2010-2020). What do you think?

By the numbers:

  • 3 NFL Defensive Play of the Year Awards
  • Face of the Franchise
  • Tied for second in sacks since 2011
  • Has only played 112 games
  • Only 31 years old

There’s an argument to be made here. I’m just not sure what it is. J.J. Watt has 100% become the face of the Texans, if not the entire AFC South over the last decade.

He has however also been hurt an insane amount. I mean, dude has barely played 3 of the last 4 seasons. Also, he’s been fairly annoying on social media. Like, I’d rank him in my top 10 least favorite people on social media.

That being said. I have to agree with this assessment.

But, I want to toss it over to you guys. If not J.J. Watt… who else would be in the running? DeAndre Hopkins and Deshaun Watson would be the only other two names that come to mind. Hopkins is a beast. Watson has literally carried the team in the last three seasons. But, that might be me just looking at this from a “what have you done for me lately” point of view.

I’m gonna leave you with some nasty J.J. Watt highlight porn to enjoy. Remember that time he basically killed the Bengal’s center?
