Kesha is back in a big way with “Praying”

After all of the horrible shit that Kesha has been through and the emotions that accompany that struggle, I wouldn’t have blamed her if she had given up on music. All of that raw emotion comes pouring out in her new single “Praying.” First of all, I’m a sucker for piano and the strong is built around strong piano cords. Secondly, I love an anthem. Kesha has created an anthem for anyone that’s been scorned. But the song also speaks of forgiveness and metaphorically turning the other cheek.

“Praying” marks the pop star’s first release in four years, as she was embattled in a legal war with he scumbag ex-producer Dr. Luke. The singer accused Dr. Luke, who I’m assuming isn’t a real Doctor or PHD of sexual assault and harassment. While, all of those accusations are alleged, the Dr. was able to put her career in hold for four years. So, yeah, he’s a piece of crap in my book. As of this blog being written, the video already has 650,000+ views on Youtube. Killin’ it.

That’s being said, Kesha’s fucking back.

This song was co-written by Ryan Lewis. You know of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis fame.

The song and video are both epic. Enjoy.

Remember, I’m a sports guy. But, I’m THE music guy.

Kesha – Praying Lyrics

Well, you almost had me fooled
Told me that I was nothing without you
Oh, but after everything you’ve done
I can thank you for how strong I have become

‘Cause you brought the flames and you put me through hell
I had to learn how to fight for myself
And we both know all the truth I could tell
I’ll just say this is I wish you farewell

I hope you’re somewhere praying, praying
I hope your soul is changing, changing
I hope you find your peace
Falling on your knees, praying

I’m proud of who I am
No more monsters, I can breathe again
And you said that I was done
Well, you were wrong and now the best is yet to come
‘Cause I can make it on my own
And I don’t need you, I found a strength I’ve never known
I’ve been thrown out, I’ve been burned
When I’m finished, they won’t even know your name

You brought the flames and you put me through hell
I had to learn how to fight for myself
And we both know all the truth I could tell
I’ll just say this is I wish you farewell

I hope you’re somewhere praying, praying
I hope your soul is changing, changing
I hope you find your peace
Falling on your knees, praying

Oh, sometimes, I pray for you at night
Someday, maybe you’ll see the light
Oh, some say, in life, you’re gonna get what you give
But some things, only God can forgive

I hope you’re somewhere praying, praying
I hope your soul is changing, changing
I hope you find your peace
Falling on your knees, praying
