Fultz to sit out remainder of Summer League

I like this move. No, check that. I love this move. Listen, it’s been a really hard decade to be a Philadelphia 76ers fan. We’ve been trusting this process for the past 7 years. Well, to be honest, I’ve only trusted it for like the last month or so. Before that, I was just hating on the process and Sam Hinkie. But, now it appears to be coming together and I’ve bought in. #TrustTheProcess, baby. Markelle Fultz is the last piece of this giant 2,000 piece puzzle and we need him healthy to complete it.

Yes, I understand that the NBA Summer League is a vital tool in the development of young talent. But, you know what else is valuable? My god damn sanity. When Fultz went down the other night and left in a wheelchair, my heart slowly melted. All of my Philly self doubt rushed back, I found myself questioning the stupid process. I even assured myself that Fultz had broken his ankle and was done forever. Logging onto Twitter didn’t help the matters, the negative running rampant on there.

Good News: Fultz only sprained his ankle.

Now, put that kid in bubble wrap and don’t let anything happen to any of our the Sixers’ key players until the regular season starts.

ESPN: “Philadelphia 76ers rookie Markelle Fultz will not play for the rest of the summer league because of a left ankle sprain suffered on Saturday in Las Vegas, the team announced Sunday.

Fultz was helped off the court after rolling the ankle in a game against the Golden State Warriors. The team said Sunday that X-rays were negative but that a lateral ankle sprain will prevent him from taking part in basketball activities for one to two weeks.

Fultz was walking around on Sunday and said he was relieved the injury wasn’t serious.”
