Amir Johnson Also Wants to Trust the Process

The Philadelphia 76ers have reported reached an agreement will Amir Johnson for a on-year, $11 million contract. Oh course, Wojnaroski got the scoop on this. So, shout out to Woj. That dude probably hasn’t slept in three days.

Now, I don’t hate this move. But, it doesn’t come without concern either. Amir Johnson is known to be a great influence in the locker room, which the Sixers can utilize right now. There’s so much youth on this team that bringing in the correct veteran to mold the future super stars is a great idea.

But, there’s some issues that could arise with this move. If Johnson isn’t ready to take a backseat and play a support roll, he could have the opposite affect on this team. Right now, he’d be completing for time with both Ben Simmons and Dario Saric. Robert Covington could also demand considerable time in the power forward position. So, where does that leave Johnson? Hopefully he will accept a mentor roll, where he’s helping to develop the young Sixers into professional people and players.

Bleacher Report: “Veteran power forward Amir Johnson and the Philadelphia 76ers reportedly reached an agreement Saturday on a one-year, $11 million deal, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Johnson has spent the last two seasons as a dependable piece of the Boston Celtics’ frontcourt rotation. He averaged 6.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 21.4 minutes while shooting 58 percent from the field across 159 regular-season appearances after signing a two-year, $24 million contract.”

Trust the process, Amir Johnson.
