Fantasy Golf Rankings Quicken Loans National

The Quicken Loans National takes place at a new venue this year, TPC Potomac. Below you will find this week’s fantasy golf rankings, One and Done picks and odds to win.

Travelers Championship finishes

Jordan Spieth defeated Daniel Berger in the first hole of a playoff Sunday by chipping a birdie in from out of the bunker. The lucky shot gave Spieth the victory, the tenth of his career. I had Berger at 35/1 odds so I’m a little bitter on the subject. Let’s move on to more important things…

Last week’s rankings resulted in 20 of 25 made cuts. We had 10 of our ranked golfers finish in 26th place or better at the Travelers Championship. Those 10 performances were:

Rank      Player                                   Finish

3              T. Finau                                 T17

5              B. Steele                               T14

6              G. DeLaet                              T26

7              J. Spieth                                1 (won)

8              P. Casey                                 T5

9              D. Berger                                2

12           M. Leishman                         T17

13           K. Bradley                              T8

18           C. Hoffman                           T3

21           W. Simpson                          T8

Quicken Loans National | Breakdown

The TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm hasn’t hosted a PGA Tour event since 2006. Renovations have been done over the past decade so course history is not a big factor when determining your lineups this week. Meaning, you will have to rely on current form and player statistics.

Another week, another weak…field. The Quicken Loans National will have one player in the OWGR top 10 this week (Rickie) and only a total of three in the top 25 (Reed and Thomas). There are some quality players sprinkled in but this is a field that has David Lingmerth at 28/1 odds to win…he’s been playing good, but c’mon now.

Side note: The Tiger Woods Foundations sponsors this event. Guess who will not be attending any of the week’s festivities? I’ll give you a hint, he’s half-Asian. And no, it’s not Jon from “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”

TPC Potomac is again a par 70 course which means par 4 scoring stats should be weighted into your decision making. Keeping it in the fairway is important as always, so golfers who’ve gained strokes off the tee and by approach will be heavily used when developing my DraftKings lineups. I’ll probably look for guys who play well on Pete Dye courses because there seem to be similarities here – aka Bill Haas.
