Ohio Is For Lovers by Hawthorne Heights is your Throw Back Thursday

I found my life at a crossroads this weekend. My Saturday evening started at a winery with my wife and ended very differently. We listened to an acoustic trio as they struggled through playing songs from 70’s, ate a charcuterie plate and drank a bottle (maybe a bottle and half) of wine. While we were sitting there, Facebook reminded me that Hawthorne Heights was playing at a local DIY punk venue nearby. So, we transitioned from a picturesque vineyard to an old warehouse that serves as a music venue. Upon entering the venue, there was a girl with a pet duck in a diaper and smelly punk kids as far as the eye could see. Instantly I regretted the decision and thought about turning around and leaving. Fortunately, I have just enough “scene cred” left that our tickets got comped.

Needless to say, Hawthorne Heights killed it. They were using the show as a warmup or Warped Tour, so they played all the hits and sounded flawless. So, here’s your #ThrowBackThursday, in honor of one of the greatest Emo (screamo?) bands to ever take the stage.

That was just want I needed last weekend. So, to get you through until Friday, here’s your #ThrowBackThursday!
