The Challenge Champs vs Pros Episode 1: Lolo Jones is the Worst

Do you know what my major take away from The Challenge Champs vs Pros episode 1, was? Lolo Jones is the absolutely worst. And I’m not talking, “oh man, she’s annoying.” No, Lolo Jones is completely insufferable. Appearing on this TV show might be the worst decision she’s ever made. Before, she was just an American hero, but she wasn’t famous enough that anyone really cared how she acted. Now, she’s put herself in the spotlight and shined a light on all of her flaws.

Lolo is an amazing athlete, she’s an Olympic track star and a member of the bobsled team. She also holds the American record for the 60 meter hurdles. But, she repeatedly made an ass of herself on national television, last night. Johnny Bananas talks shit and I love him for it. But, that’s because he’s a reality TV star. Lolo Jones is an Olympian, I don’t want to see her screaming in people’s faces like an insolent child.

Last night, when Lolo was put into elimination by her team, she threw a fit. Apparently she felt her charity was “more important” than the others. Why? Because the charity she’s competing to raise money for is her own foundation, Hurdles for Hope.

MTV.com Challenge Champs vs Pros Episode 1: “I think we’re all here to raise the profiles for all of our charities, and I felt like what Lolo was saying about her charity being more important because it was her foundation than everybody else’s was a little bit out of line,” Louise said.

Gus Kenworthy, pro skier, seemed to agree and directed his frustrations squarely at Lolo.

“I understand that you’re passionate and it’s your thing, but we’re all very passionate about our stuff,” he said.

I did some research and it seems Lolo Jones has a habit of running her mouth. Like when she pissed off the whole of the Olympic Bobsled division by complaining about her paycheck.

BlackAmericaWeb.com: “With just eight months to go before the Winter Olympics, two-time Olympic hurdler LoLo Jones posted a Vine video on Monday jokingly complaining about her $741.84 check from the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation, which decides pay based on performance results.

“Several months with bobsled season. The whole season. That’s it. I’m going to be a little late on my rent this month,” Jones wrote.

Fellow bobsledder Steven Holcomb called Jones’ comments “a slap in the face.”

“It wasn’t taken very well,” he told USA Today. “People were really kind of insulted. You just made $741, more than most athletes in the sport. So what are you complaining about? The way it came across to a lot of the athletes here was kind of snobby because she’s one of the most well-known athletes in the world and she’s making pretty good money in endorsements. And to basically turn around and slap us in the face because you didn’t make any money this year in bobsledding while taking money from other athletes? She slapped pretty much every athlete in the U.S. federation in the face. That was the general consensus.”
