Mouthing off with the StroudRounder: Golovkin vs. Jacobs

Golovkin vs. Jacobs at the Mecca

My short and sweet prediction of the Gennady Gennadyevich Golovkin and Danny Jacobs fight? Golovkin by unanimous decision. The fight takes place tonight in Madison Square Garden. Jacobs has all the tools to beat Golovkin, unfortunately I expect GGG to prove to be too much and dominate most of the fight.  I expect a back and forth contest with Jacobs hanging in for most of the fight.  Gennady’s power will bring Jacobs to the mat early, but Danny is a resilient fighter and will recover quickly.  After the 12 round battle is over, Gennady will still be the reigning, defending IBO World, WBA Super World, WBC World and IBF World Middleweight Champion Gennady “Triple G” Golovkin!”

Experts all agree

Many of the boxing connoisseurs all pick Golovkin to win; some are even saying by TKO before round 10.  Lucian Bute, former Super Middleweight champion is predicting unanimous decision but says Jacobs will have bright spots in the fight.

Robert Diaz, who is the matchmaker for Golden Boy Promotions, is going with a TKO in the 9th round. He does think Danny Jacobs is by far the best opponent that GGG has faced in his career, however.

Sergio Mora, who Jacobs just recently beat, is pulling for Danny.  Unfortunately, he sees Gennady scoring the KO in the 9th round as well.  Mora chooses technique and precise power, which are two major factors that GGG has going for himself.
