Hop on the Johnny Manziel Comeback Train

Pro Football Talk: Quarterback Johnny Manziel wants to get back to the NFL. He apparently realizes that, before he can get there, he’ll need to show that he can thrive in a lesser league.

And so he reportedly has worked out with the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders, according to the Hamilton Spectator. The workout, if it happened, violates CFL rules, because the Hamilton Tiger-Cats hold Manziel’s exclusive negotiating rights. (The Roughriders denied that a workout occurred.)

Well, shit. Here we go. Choo, choo! It’s time to get onboard the Johnny Football comeback train!

In reality, this will likely be more of a train wreck, than a comeback train. At the very least, it should be entertaining for us to watch. How about those Saskatchewan Roughriders? The rebels of the CFL. The Roughriders are just out there giving Johnny Football illegal work outs. They don’t give a shit about what the Hamilton Tiger-cats think. If Johnny Menziel is going to play in the CFL, he clearly needs to be on a team called the Roughriders. Right? Right.

Sidebar: How stupid of a name is the “Tiger-cats?” Clearly a tiger is already a cat. Is there any point in hyphenating tiger and cat?

P.S. Johnny, if you’re going to make a comeback, maybe put on some weight. A 150 pound quarterback won’t last very long in the NFL. Also, no more drugs or booze, not that you’re into that sort of thing anyway.
