Fantasy Golf and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Fantasy golf and daily fantasy (DFS) golf are becoming more popular by the week. And I say week because it is not technically a “daily” fantasy sport. Well, not in my eyes. The “daily” tag frustrates me. I am not sure why some fantasy sports, such as golf, are categorized as “daily”…it’s a weekly sport, damn it.

Anyways…

My fantasy heart and soul will always be with football, but golf has nestled its way into second place. The main reason being that DFS golf lasts for four days. Once you input and submit your lineup prior to the first tee time on Thursday, you are guaranteed four full days of fantasy sports play. In my opinion, the best DFS bang for your buck. Also, the PGA Tour season is 40 weeks long (44 including the FedExCup playoffs). If you play in a regular fantasy golf league that has cumulative scoring, 40+ weeks is a LONG time. Anything can happen down the stretch.

So, if you are new to DFS golf and have a few extra bucks remaining in your DraftKings balance from the football season, why not try it out? With the assistance of myself and PAS contributing writer and statistician, Taylor [email protected], we will break down the upcoming week’s tournament playing field and provide insight on top golfers to include in your lineup.

Derived from over 20 statistical categories obtained through PGATour.com, a system was created to rank each PGA golfer by stat category along with an overall rankings list. The data will be updated weekly so the most current statistical figures and rankings will be available.

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am begins this Thursday, February 9th. See below for information on golfers to consider when completing your DFS lineups this week. It should be noted that DraftKings’ salaries were used for golfer dollar amounts.
